- Research and Development
Oriental Copper has done extensive research, replacing the multiple-jointed straight busbars connecting the main ACB to the main horizontal busbars, with an innovative Twist Bar (with a Torsional Bend). Both types of switchboards (Conventional multiple-jointed straight busbars and innovative Twist Bar) underwent a Temperature Rise Test and Short Circuit Test according to the IEC-60439-1 Standard at TCA (Testing & Certification Australia). The test results showed superiority of OC-ETP® Twist Bar over the Conventional Busbar for the reduction of heat in the busbar system (Less temperature rise) and less movement of busbars when subjected to short circuit fault. These tests have been certified by ASTA in 2008.
- Superiority of Profile Bar and Non-Welded Edgewise Elbow
In comparison with conventional bar & welded elbow:
10% higher electrical current rating
Lower temperature rise on the same electrical current rating
Less copper consumption
Lower production cost as welding process can be avoided2
- Profile Bar and Non-Weld Edgewise Elbow for Busduct Application
Electric current flow can vary in two copper conductors with same cross sectional area but with different perimeters of the conductor surface (Skin Effect). The conductor with the larger perimeter is able to allow a higher current carrying capacity. Additionally, the current flow is better in a non-welded elbow rather than a welded one.
